The primary purpose of Blair A’Hearn and Live Well Counseling & Consulting is to reach out to and be a source of psychological and spiritual healing and growth for all people. Our mission is to help people, churches, and communities to not merely live, but to LIVE WELL.
This is carried our through speaking, workshops, counseling, coaching, consulting, and written products. While counseling and coaching is done primarily in-house, it is also available online or by phone. Workshops are available to any organization but are most often provided through local churches.
Blair A’Hearn is the owner of and counselor, coach and consultant at Live Well Counseling & Consulting. He was a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for 25 years serving churches in the Midwest. He received a Bachelor’s of Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa and his Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa.
For 12 years he served as a presenter for Group Workcamps throughout the United States. Blair has trained pastors and youth leaders in Japan. He has served as a coach and consultant to pastors and their churches in the areas of worship, strategic planning, and pastoral wellness and effectiveness.
Blair has written numerous songs for the church, including Peace Be Yours which is published in The Best of the Best in Contemporary Worship Songs and Chalice Praise. He has also produced three CD’s of original Christian music and has performed music ministry around the mid-west with his wife Lyn. His first book, The God You’ve Always Wanted to Believe In, suggests one’s wellness is directly associated with one’s perspective of God.
He has additional training in Steinke’s Healthy Congregations, Natural Church Development, Coachnet Coaching, Consulting for Vital Congregations with the Alban Institute, the Circle of Life Wellness and Development and is a qualified facilitator of the Meyers – Briggs Type Indicator. In 2012 he completed a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Northern Iowa.
